Common Boots is celebrating its 40th anniversary this season! We’re so excited to celebrate with you and we’re planning lots of fun ways to engage all season long. Rubies and nasturtiums are the traditional gifts for a 40th anniversary. We don’t expect you to give us any, but here are other awesome ways to celebrate with us:

• Launder! (not money, clothes!) We’ve partnered with Tru Earth for a fundraiser- support us with clean clothes! We also have a partnership with Net Zero Co. with great every day items- support us!
• Join us! We’ve got lots of fun events planned this year- live and in person, or digital!
• Watch and laugh! We’re unleashing Bad Jokes told by Great People with our season long celebration: 40 Jokes for 40 Years.
• Reminisce! We’ll be sharing some of our favourite memories from the last 4 decades on social media, particularly in November, our birth month.
• Follow us! Get our latest news on social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok), or our newsletter (sign up HERE).
• Advocate! Talk to you local elected officials about the importance of the arts in your life and your community.

When we blow out the candles on our birthday cake (think of 40 bright candles all over a 3-tier cake of your favourite flavour!) we’ll of course be making a huge wish!

Our first wish is to raise $10,000 before the end of 2023 to allocate towards the development of new works.

Thanks to support from the Arts Councils, Corporate and community partners, many exciting projects and activities for this anniversary year are paid for, and our operational costs are covered. This campaign will help us accelerate the timeline on projects in development, and hiring more artists this year to ensure we have robust offerings for the next 40 years.
