Recommender Grants for Theatre Creators
Application Deadline: Friday September 29, 2017
Common Boots Theatre (formerly Theatre Columbus) is proud to be an agent for the Ontario Arts Council’s Recommender Grants for Theatre Creators and as such provides playwrights with support to launch new works or develop early drafts to final stages of completion.
We welcome submissions from collectives and favour works that feature a strong female character driving the narrative. We are drawn to works with a sense of humour or play that are bold enough to examine our socio-political climate with honesty and passion. We are open to projects in various stages of development and see this program as an opportunity to offer artists who specialize in collaborative creation and physical theatre the time and freedom to develop their work.
We will disperse $4,000 to select writers. On average, creators receive between $1000 and $2500. We reserve the right to fund fewer projects at a more significant level.
Please review the Common Boots Theatre (formerly Theatre Columbus) website to determine whether your project aligns with our activities.
